Recently dredged and extended, Eeldeke Pond is spring-fed. Trees and shrubs have been planted round the edge and sedges and reeds in the water. There is a boggy area to encourage marginal plants such as king cups and ragged robin. This is a favourite spot in the summer for dragonflies as well as frogs, newts and kingfishers(above). |
