This green lane
runs from the St. Cross - St Margaret road to the common. An award
winning conservation scheme in 1998 saw the replanting of one long
hedgerow on the north side, using a variety of native species to
create a diverse habitat for wildlife.
Follow route
C for the continuation of Debb's Lane over the beck (kingfishers
might be seen here and also on the moat), past the former
Sand Pit - once supplying material for the St. Cross brickworks
- to the Common.
Look out for
birds nesting in the hedgerows, such as linnets, goldfinches and
yellowhammers.
