The ancient
meadows of the Common are a remnant of the extensive Greshaw Green
Divisions and strips of common can still be made out in the old
pasture. There are foundations of cottages and a barn within a small
moat.
Before enclosure
the Green formed the western boundary of the medieval deer park.
You may see willow warblers here, linnets in the hedgerows, and
barn owls (above) hunt the area.
