The Common

The ancient meadows of the Common are a remnant of the extensive Greshaw Green Divisions and strips of common can still be made out in the old pasture. There are foundations of cottages and a barn within a small moat.

Before enclosure the Green formed the western boundary of the medieval deer park. You may see willow warblers here, linnets in the hedgerows, and barn owls (above) hunt the area.
