New Conservation award
We have just recieved the 2011 Tim Sloan Award for Farm Wildlife Conservation in Suffolk. This special award is given to farms displaying good conservation practice with emphasis on BAP target species .This year it was bats, we have at least four species recorded on the farm, pipistrelle, brown long eared, noctule and serontine. The judges were particularly impressed with the farm hedges, ponds, mature trees and old buildings, all of which provide roosts and feeding opportunities for bats. Our thanks to judges Diane Ling of Suffolk FWAG and Alan Miller of Suffolk Wildlife Trust, and here is hoping for a secure future for Suffolk FWAG.
